The Orange County Grand Jury is Accepting Applications

OK, if you’re retired and sitting at home wondering what’s next, we might have an interesting idea for you. Ready? Here it is: Apply now to serve on the next Orange County Grand Jury. The O.C. Grand Jury, according to its official website, is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on Orange County residents and the O.C. community. Required by law, the grand jury consists of 19 members who serve on panels for both criminal indictments and civil investigations. (Compensation is $50 per day for up to five days; reimbursement for mileage to and from meetings is allowed at the regular county rate.

The Grand Jury is a full-time position for a year (July 2018 through June 2019) and jurors can expect to serve four to five days each week. All applicants must be at least 18 years old, U.S. citizens and O.C. residents. An application form and more information are online at www.ocgrandjury.org. The deadline to apply is January 26, 2018.
