A groundbreaking (or glass-breaking) innovator in sports and entertainment, Erin Andrews is truly a powerhouse example of female leadership. And now, thanks to Orange County United Way, you can get inspired by the sportscasting superstar … in person.
Orange County United Way will present the 16th Annual Women’s Philanthropy Fund Breakfast 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. May 16 at Hotel Irvine (17900 Jamboree Road) with Andrews serving as special guest for the morning. The event will raise funds for initiatives targeting the education, health, housing and income challenges facing women and children in Orange County.
The Annual Women’s Philanthropy Fund Breakfast is continually hailed as one of Orange County’s most impactful fundraising events, and with an anticipated 950 philanthropists and leaders in attendance, this year’s festivities will be no exception.
“For the past 16 years, Orange County United Way has brought together the county’s most passionate and prominent women at our annual Women’s Philanthropy Fund Breakfast to make a sustained difference in the lives of fellow women and children who are facing critical challenges in their lives,” said Susan B. Parks, president and CEO of Orange County United Way, and one of the Founding Members of the Women’s Philanthropy Fund. “This year, we are thrilled to once again shine a light on areas of great need in Orange County and where the Women’s Philanthropy Fund can ignite their generosity to transform the future of Orange County and its next generation.”
Keynote speaker Erin Andrews, will inspire the crowd with a presentation on the importance of giving back to the local community. Andrews has become one of the most recognizable and respected female sports broadcasters, and currently reports for FOX Sports. She serves as sideline reporter for the National Football League and Major League Baseball and contributes to other major sporting events, such as the MLB All-Star Game, the World Series, the NFL Playoffs and the Daytona 500.
Outside of live broadcasting, Andrews has a host of other talents. For five years, she has joined Tom Bergeron as co-host of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. She was a contestant on the hit competition series, where she was paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy and came in third place.
This year’s breakfast will highlight the Women’s Philanthropy Fund four year partnership with Paul Revere Elementary School, investing in a place-based initiative that weaves together resources in a clearly defined place, called an Impact Hub, to collectively improve outcomes for children and families facing high poverty, unemployment and housing instability. The support from the Women’s Philanthropy Fund provides an on-campus food pantry, housing and financial empowerment center, classroom technology, reading materials, after-school programs and more. Funds raised during the morning event will help United Way duplicate the Impact Hub model to other Orange County neighborhoods and schools with the greatest needs.
