Local, Global & Me: A Women’s Empowerment Series

Ah, the triumphant return of Local, Global & Me is nearly upon us! Orange County United Way and Bank of America are presenting the first installment of the returning three-part series of Local, Global & Me: A Women’s Empowerment Series Thursday, Nov. 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The session will be focused on investing in women to build strong communities and will take place at Chuck Jones Center for Creativity (3321 Hyland Ave., Costa Mesa). The agenda features a special presentation on how design thinking can transform personal and professional lives, a cocktail reception, networking and premier speakers, including:

Lisa Perrine

Lisa Perrine, Ed.D., CEO, Cibola Systems – Lisa Perrine is an experience designer, communication strategist and CEO of Cibola Systems. She had her colleagues focus on the human elements on communication: the interplay between workplace culture and communication, how people experience media, and how individuals interact with technology. An avid writer and frequent presenter, Lisa delivers courses and workshops on Design Thinking and Workplace Experience Design. Her courses have been approved for certification renewal units by the American Institute of Architects, International Interior Design Association and AVIXA.

Calista Wu

Calista Wu, Sr. Associate, Rutan & Tucker LLP – Calista Wu’s practice focuses on commercial and corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other general corporate law matters. She frequently serves as outside general counsel for corporate clients, advising companies on a broad range of transactional and governance matters. Calista has been featured, both nationally and internationally, as a banking and finance expert. She is the co-author of the Cross-Border Banking and Finance Guide for California, which is generally considered to be the definitive treatise on asset-based lending. Prior to becoming an attorney, Calista was a recording artist, singer and songwriter.
