It’s probably fitting the newly opened Lido House—part of the Autograph Collection by Marriott—is calling its dining establishment, Mayor’s Table Pacific Pub & Kitchen. After all, Lido House (3300 Newport Blvd.) is located on the site of the old Newport Beach City Hall and its presence is a constructed symbol of old Balboa Peninsula meeting new.
Since inception, the 130-room, upscale Lido House has drawn mixed reviews from residents: Some are warming to its proposed dynamic parking plan to alleviate the already-congested area; others see it as the next wave in high-end development eroding Balboa Peninsula’s low-key charm; and a third group simply like it.
Details about the Mayor’s Table are so far scant, though the menu will focus its efforts on seafood and a “vegetable-forward” cuisine, according to the Lido House website. Mayor’s Table will also feature a raw bar, chef’s table (a very Vegas-esque move for this little coastal town) and an open-action kitchen, also a daring maneuver and reflective of a restaurant confident in what it’s putting on your plate. Mayor’s Table will serve lunch, brunch and dinner, and will be a self-described “perfect place for celebrations large and small.”
On the roof, Lido House’s Topside is an outdoor craft-cocktail experience; Topside will serve up champagne pairings, high-end libations and views of both Newport Bay and the beach amid a nautically themed setting that “exudes a true beach soirée vibe.”
Elsewhere inside Lido House, a cafe named Crew Coffee + Cremerie will offer house-made ice cream and caffeinated beverages.Other amenities include a spa, fitness center and pool.
