If you’ve ever been to Lido Village Books, you’d know it’s a magical, literary oasis catty-cornered among the elegant shops of Via Oporto in Newport Beach. The vibe is kind of like a tangible sigh, worry leaves your body, you’re among pages composed by masters of the written word.
Tomorrow, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. Lido Village Books at Lido Marina Village will host its monthly speaker series, Pen on Fire. Pen on Fire is a salon-style discussion moderated by Barbara DeMarco-Barrett, journalist and non-fiction author. February’s edition of the series will feature best-selling novelists Attica Locke and Ivy Pochada.
Locke’s novel, Bluebird, Bluebird was named Best of 2017 book by The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Financial Times. Wonder Valley by Ivy Pochada was named a Los Angeles Times Book of the Year.
