Lido Marina Village Debuts ‘Fourth Fridays’

Starting tomorrow, Lido Marina Village will celebrate ‘Fourth Fridays,’ ringing in the final weekend of the month with local crafts, a photo booth and more.

Former Manhattanites will recognize the term from the ubiquitous ‘First Fridays,’ a metropolitan tradition recognized by the likes of the Museum of Natural History, The Frick Collection and the Guggenheim. On a more local note, the Catalina Island Museum also participates in the monthly fête, which usually involves discounted admission, free food, DJ’d music and of course, whatever art is on display.

Lido Marina Village’s version falls on the final Friday of the month, and will last from 1-7 p.m. ‘Final Friday’ will include (at least for its first go-around), local Orange County florist, French Buckets, displaying its stylish blooms from The Dainty Mobile Wagon. (The latter, if you’re curious, is an adorable mini-trailer for rent that many businesses use as a showcase for their products.)

Also participating: Mom & Pop Shop, an O.C. food truck that sells handmade, all-natural popsicles. Mom & Pop pops are made with seasonal fruits, vegetables and locally sourced ingredients. The pops are sweetened with dates instead of refined sugar, so if you’re on that summer diet, you can have one of these treats and you’re still good to go. (Shout out to our favorite Lido Marina Village gym, Curl Fitness, … stop in there if you’re feeling like you need a jump-start to your summer exercise routine.)

‘Final Friday’ will also feature a vintage market for the fashion enthusiasts and, because nothing really happens until you post it on Instagram, a photo booth to satisfy the ardent hashtagger’s needs.

So, with adorable pictures, natural pops and local products … ‘First Fridays’ might just be your favorite way to send in the glorious weekend.
