Day four of the 2018 Vans US Open of Surfing presented by Swatch is in the books! The competition was firing in Huntington Beach yesterday with the Men’s Qualifying Series (QS) 10,000 (Round 2, Heats 9-16) and the Men’s Pro Junior Quarterfinals and Semifinals.
Brasilians Deivid Silva (BRA), Miguel Pupo(BRA), Bino Lopes (BRA) and Italo Ferreira (BRA) dominated the day with their standout wins in Round 2. They now await the final Round 2 heat results to determine their challengers in Round 3.
The Men’s Pro Junior Finalists were also locked in on Tuesday and competitors are now gearing up for the four-man Final to determine the winner of the 2018 Vans US Open of Surfing. The Men’s Pro Junior Final will feature San Clemente locals Kade Matson (USA) and Cole Houshmand (USA), Hawaii’s Barron Mamiya, and Mexico’s Alan Cleland.

The Vans US Open of Surfing will continue today at 7:30 a.m. PST with Women’s Pro Junior Round 1 (Heats 1-4), Quarterfinals (Heats 1-4), and Semifinals (Heats 1-2), followed by the Men’s QS Round 2 (Heats 17-24). Vans BMX Pro Cup practice will begin at 9 a.m., the same time the Sponsor Village opens, which provides event attendees a chance to grab their 2018 Vans US Open gear.
